Iris - Deep song meaning

Tonight I attended and sang this song with my friend. And of course I looked up the meaning of the song before we did it so I know what the feeling was. I found out it was made for a film firstly about an angel that falls in love with a human woman and he is to choose between eternal life or give that up to be with this person he's in love with. I can't explain it all in detail but Its basically  a song about forbidden love. And I think a lot of us can relate to this song.
