You guys probably don't know, or I don't remember if I told you this. So I'll just explain. I was born with short ear drums and also hereditary ear problems from my non filipino grandma's side. If water gets into my ear or if they get really cold then it immediately affects me. I can go swimming but I but never underwater. One little drop of water in my ear plus earwax buildup=Sore throat and a high fever. So everytime I shower I've always had to wear ear caps and it's hard since sometimes they fall off and I have to put them back on. I would usually go to the doctor to get it taken out with a small tool then be prescribed antibiotics but honestly it hurts when they do that and the medicine has always tasted terrible. When I was little my mom said that it tasted like a milkshake, till afterwards I found out she lied xD
I think the worst one I had was when I had it in both ears but the other ear was worse. My fever was somewhere around 120 or more? I was supposed to go deaf in one ear and almost had to go to the hospital. But I was lucky that the doctor got it out, that I was healed, and could hear clearly again. But right now I'm really worried. My left ear has been bothering me for awhile now. I don't want my mom to have to pay for the doctor's again. I'm just afraid of going deaf and that one day I won't be able to hear anymore. Especially because I love singing and music, it's important to me.
