My American Idol XV Audition Experience Part 1
Hey guys!!! I know it took a while so here it goes. My American Idol Audition Experience. Now before you go into this you have to think it through real hard knowing what you're getting yourself into. If you're a hundred percent you want to try out for something then hey go for it! The first thing you do is go their website americanidol.com where you can pick from various auditions. You can go after the AmericanIdol buses, do an online audition, or go to the Live Venues shown. The live venue I went to was in Philadelphia, PA on August 2nd Liacouras Center. Before going there make sure you have good songs prepared, look presentable, and have your forms with you (release form). Also, medical/ guardianship form too if you're a minor. You will also have to have an ID on you so they know your age. I was already prepared with these things a few months ago when I found out. A few days before we left we packed a few things up, and the day we were leaving we finished packing up then left for the Microtel in Philadelphia,PA where we got around 9pm Saturday night. I saw so many different cars form different states there, most likely to try out for Idol as well. When my mom got in to check into our hotel room, they said we didn't reserve which made my Mom upset since she clearly paid for a room beforehand. Later on, they cleared up that they spelled and misheard her last name and fixed the problem. Then we were able to go into the hotel. We were really hungry when we got there, so we ordered delivery from our hotel room. The hotel looked a little rundown but we had the basic necessities. Afterwards we slept around 12:30pm and woke up around 4am to get beautified. At around 5:30am we had free breakfast at the hotel where we met the nice desk manager who is Indian. He complimented me and my sister for our very long hair (yes our hair is real and long, no extensions whatsoever). He was very nice and said to keep it like that because hair is a girls asset and it makes her look beautiful and younger. When he found out that I was trying out for American Idol, he said he was rooting for me and also his fellow workers as well wished me good luck! We left asap and drowve to the Liacouras Center which was about 10 minutes or so from where we were staying. When we got there the line was really really long. Longer than the line auditions for The Voice! Many people were already in front of the line and probably came earlier than 4am so they could be in front to register. So there we were in the back of the line, then more people came to fill the back waiting to get into one building. The line was moving at a moderate pace but it was hard standing up for so long. Luckily they split the line in half, so we got to enter through other doors into the building, around that time it was like around 8 something. They set up tables and make you go up 2 people each table where you get more papers to sign and wristbands, your family is also given wristbands and are permitted to go in the building. Also seat tickets are given as well. Afterwards you enter the building where they have people check your bags then do security scan check on you. Then you are led into the building where you are free to take an American Idol XV gif. It is optional and of course I did one, there was no music or anything that made it speical so I spruced it up on my meipai later on. Of course they have food there, but you have to buy it while you wait. Lots of auditioners were everywhere in the hall and heard throughtou practicing in the halls and even the bathrooms.
